It’s official: I’m employed again

This just in, I’ll be joining the Detroit News. The job is part design and part copy editing. I start June 11.

Final Assignment Zero edits

In all, I did edits for three interviews on the
Assignment Zero citizen journalism site. Here they are:

  • Alpheus Bingham of Innocentive, a firm that pulls “wisdom of the crowds” from scientists and others to solve company’s research and development problems.
  • Kyle MacRea of Scoopt.com. His site corrals amateur images from cell phones and other sources for use in mainstream news outlets.
  • Jon Donley, the editor of NOLA.com, the Web site of the Times-Picayune in New Orleans.

Each subject, in his way, has cleverly harnessed the power of the Web. Each is worth reading up on.
